Craning Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions for Narrowboat and Widebeam Craning at Wincham Wharf
1. Definitions
1.1 “Company” refers to Narrowboats Ltd.
1.2 “Customer” refers to any individual or business engaging the Company for craning services.
1.3 “Craning Services” refers to the lifting, moving, or placing of boats by crane at the Company’s site.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 All bookings must be made in advance and confirmed in writing.
2.2 Full payment is due one week before the scheduled service.
2.3 Prices are subject to change without notice, but confirmed bookings will honour the agreed price.
3. Customer Responsibilities
3.1 The Customer must ensure the boat is prepared for craning, including removing loose items and securing all fixtures.
3.2 Accurate boat dimensions and weight must be provided. Failure to do so may result in delays or additional charges. The maximum weight vessel is 31 tonnes.
3.3 The Customer must comply with the Company’s health and safety regulations while on site.
3.4 On-site parking is limited and may not always be available. If parking is provided, it is at the owner’s risk. In cases where the vehicle is left unattended, keys must be handed into the office granting the Company to move the vehicle on site if necessary.
4. Liability and Insurance
4.1 The Company carries public liability insurance for craning operations.
4.2 The Customer is responsible for ensuring their boat is insured against damage during craning.
4.3 The Company will not be liable for any damage resulting from inaccurate information provided by the Customer.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
5.1 Cancellations must be made in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled service to receive a refund. This does not apply to boats who have reserved a space on our hardstanding or mooring. Please refer to our storage agreement for the full terms and conditions.
5.2 Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
6. Health and Safety
6.1 All personnel on-site must adhere to the Company’s health and safety protocols.
6.2 The Company reserves the right to refuse service if safety concerns are identified.
7. Force Majeure
7.1 The Company is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its control, such as weather, equipment failure, or labour disputes.
8. Dispute Resolution
8.1 Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom
8.2 The Company and Customer agree to attempt mediation before pursuing legal action.
9. General Provisions
9.1 These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer.
9.2 No amendments or modifications will be valid unless agreed upon in writing by both parties.
